RT-04 A Walk in Their Shoes: How Competing Priorities Affect Medical Treatment After Reentry From Incarceration
Description

Reentry is a chaotic time for people who have experienced incarceration, no matter the length of stay. Incarceration often revolves around the challenges of trauma, mental health, substance use, poverty, and housing instability. To improve postrelease outcomes, we must prioritize prerelease services, support people reentering from incarceration, and advocate for structural changes to remove barriers in accessing medical treatment.
